The following case studies illustrate routes to CII qualifications containing prior learning from a selection of awarding organisations.
They are examples of how prior learning aligns to the rules for the prior learning scheme and for CII qualification completion. They are not intended to be exhaustive, nor do they guarantee that all prior learning applications will receive the same outcomes.

The case studies above may also help you to plan your route where you have a straightforward prior learning award, eg one or two exemptions and/or sets of non-unit specific credits.

Whilst CII's Affiliated Institutes have their distinct qualifications, the majority of affiliated institutes' qualifications attract three or four exemptions towards CII insurance qualifications.
