Whatever your ambitions, becoming a member of the Chartered Insurance Institute gives you the opportunity to shape your career the way you want, at your own pace.
Membership is open to anyone working in or connected to insurance. Eligible students and teachers in the UK are also welcome to join through our Discover membership.
The membership journey is outlined below and will help you decide which level is the right fit for you.

|Ordinary membership (SMP)||Entry-level membership for mortgage professionals, no qualification requirements||
A series of levels to recognise your learning and experience.
|Certificate||For holders of CII Certificate level qualifications||
|Diploma||For holders of the CII Diploma in Insurance||
|Advanced Diploma||For holders of CII Advanced Diploma in Insurance||
|Fellow||For holders of CII Fellowship, the CII’s highest membership level||
|Chartered||For holders of the CII Advanced Diploma or Fellowship with at least five years' sector experience (not necessarily post qualification)||
