The Disability Access Symposium 2026 is a landmark UK‑wide event bringing together senior leaders, sector champions, charities and experts to accelerate meaningful progress in accessibility for disabled people. Taking place virtually and in person during the week commencing 5 October 2026, the symposium is designed to turn best practice and lived experience into real‑world change.
Delivered in collaboration with the UK’s Disability & Access Ambassadors, the symposium will amplify initiatives, solutions and resources that are already improving the experience of disabled customers and employees - and help ensure that what works in one sector can be adopted across many more. Through thought‑provoking sessions, practical insights and cross‑sector discussion, attendees will gain up‑to‑date knowledge, fresh perspectives and actionable ideas they can take back into their organisations.
The programme will explore four key cross‑sector themes:
employment and retention, assistive technology, better design, and inclusive communications - all underpinned by the voices of disabled people and those shaping accessibility at scale.
With in‑person events confirmed at PwC, Embankment (7 October) and Lloyd’s of London (8 October), alongside a full week of virtual activity, the Disability Access Symposium 2026 is an opportunity for influential decision‑makers to connect, collaborate and lead change - not just within their organisations, but across society.
Join us from 5-9 October 2026.
What's happening
The Disability Access Symposium 2026 will run during the week commencing 5 October 2026, bringing together people from across sectors who are working to improve accessibility for disabled customers, employees and communities. Combining virtual content with opportunities to meet in person, the symposium is designed to be practical, inclusive and focused on real progress.
From Monday 5 to Friday 9 October, the symposium will host a programme of virtual sessions exploring shared challenges and solutions across employment and retention, better design, inclusive communications and assistive technology. These sessions will bring together Disability & Access Ambassadors, charities, experts and practitioners, sharing insight grounded in lived experience as well as research and innovation. To support flexible participation and accessibility, much of the virtual content will be recorded in advance and made available as part of the week’s programme.
Alongside the virtual programme, two in‑person events will take place in London:
On Wednesday 7 October 2026, an all‑day symposium will be held at PwC, Embankment, welcoming around 200 attendees for deeper discussion, cross‑sector learning and connection.
On Thursday 8 October 2026, a lunchtime event at Lloyd’s of London, bringing together up to 100 participants for focused conversation and networking. These in‑person sessions are intended to complement the virtual programme, offering space to explore ideas, build relationships and consider how learning can be put into action.
The symposium is being delivered collaboratively with the UK’s Disability & Access Ambassadors, alongside charities and organisations from across multiple sectors. Its focus is on amplifying initiatives that are already making a difference, sharing knowledge that others may not yet be aware of, and creating the conditions for meaningful change beyond the week itself.
