The Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) 2025 New Generation Programme is now open for entries, offering 50 up and coming professionals from across the UK the opportunity to join this flagship talent scheme.
The CII will welcome its 16th cohort of professionals in 2025, which has opened up to include members of the financial services profession for the first time, following support for expansion of the highly successful scheme from the CII’s immediate past President, Ian Callaghan, in line with his passion for nurturing new talent.
New Generation Programme cohorts are split into groups of 10, with each investing their time and expertise into a project or initiative of their own determination, that has the potential to improve the insurance or financial services professions. The projects take around twelve months to complete, with the work of the groups supported by CII colleagues. Previous New Generation Programme projects to have had a noteworthy impact on the insurance profession, including the Traumatic and Distressing Claims report and the Insurance Influencer campaign.
The New Generation Programme includes:
· Interactive sessions with key personnel from the Financial Conduct Authority
· Parliamentary visits with talks from MPs and other organisations in the insurance and financial planning sectors
· Training on subjects such as leadership and media engagement
· Learning, development, and networking opportunities
Nicola Stacey, President of the CII, said: “The CII New Generation Programme is a unique and hugely beneficial opportunity for emerging talent in insurance and financial services. With mentorship and collaborative opportunity at its core, the programme is designed to empower individuals with bold ideas to develop their leadership skills and contribute meaningfully to the future of the sector. We look forward to supporting and learning from the projects produced by this year’s cohort.”
Carla Brown, President of the PFS, said: “We are absolutely delighted to welcome members of the financial services profession to participate in the New Generation Programme for the first time. The PFS is committed to finding and nurturing new talent, and those who form our 2025 cohort can expect an exceptional opportunity to innovate and make a real difference for their peers and the wider profession, as well as benefit from new experiences and building networks.”
