University links

We enjoy good relationships with universities across the UK and globally and there are a small number of universities that offer specialist degrees that link to our professional qualifications:

Graduates from other UK universities who have studied a degree in one of the following areas can claim our 'standard award', which gives credits towards our professional qualifications in financial services and insurance:

  • Accounting
  • Business
  • Economics
  • Finance
  • Law
  • Management
  • Mathematics / Statistics / Actuarial Science / Investment Analysis

Check your eligibility

Many graduates who enter our profession do not have a finance-related degree. What they do have is the right set of soft skills (such as communication, problem-solving, teamwork, empathy) that make them attractive to clients and effective in the workplace. If you are a student at a UK university and you would like to build your knowledge and network, you can apply for our low-cost Discover membership scheme.

Post-ACII progression

We have agreements with a small number of UK universities that standardise progression from CII qualifications to a range of degrees, available by distance learning, online learning or classroom-based.
