This one day online workshop is designed to give candidates comprehensive knowledge and understanding of UK contract law in insurance.
This workshop will provide delegates with an understanding of the nature of contractual liability, the classification of contracts, the formation of a contract, how contract terms are classified under the general law, defective contracts, the circumstances in which a contract may be discharged, the remedies for breach of contract, the doctrine of privity of contract, the assignment of contractual rights and duties and how this applies in insurance and application of the law of contract to practical situations.

What will I achieve by attending the workshop?
By the end of this workshop, Delegates will be able to:
Explain the principles of contract law, including contract formation, terms, liabilities, defects, discharge, remedies, privity, and assignment of rights and duties.
Apply agency law principles to insurance, including the creation, authority, duties, rights, responsibilities, and termination of agency relationships.
Understand the formation of insurance contracts, including insurable interest, disclosure and misrepresentation requirements, and the interpretation of policy terms and conditions.
Manage insurance claims effectively, including notice and proof of loss, mitigation, proximate cause, fraudulent claims, and the rights of parties under an insurance contract.
Explain and apply the principle of indemnity, including claims measurement, policy limitations, salvage, abandonment, and the impact of claim payments on cover.
Apply the principles of subrogation, contribution, and double insurance to insurance claims and practical business situations.
