ACE Generational Feedback

28 October 2026, 09:30 - 16:30 (UK time)

Face-to-Face Training Workshop

Mixed Cohort - For Leaders, Managers and Early Career Professionals

One full-day

28 October 2026, 09:30 - 16:30 (UK time)

Across the UK general insurance industry today, a perceived and
misunderstood generational gap is shaping how teams work together.

Leaders are softening or withdrawing from feedback. Early-career professionals are misreading it. The result? Feedback conversations become delayed, diluted, or avoided altogether.

“The challenge is rarely the generation itself. More often it is how we interpret each other.”

This workshop helps leaders, managers and younger professionals build generational intelligence and strengthen feedback and communication between generations in the workplace.

What will I achieve by attending the workshop?

What will I achieve by attending the workshop?

The ACE (Aware - Connect - Embed) framework will help close the gap by building self awareness, connecting cross-generational understanding and equipping managers and early career professionals with practical skills to give and receive constructive feedback with confidence.

  • Recognise your own assumptions: Identify the generational assumptions and emotional triggers that shape how you give or receive feedback, and understand their impact on others.
  • Separate intent from impact: Distinguish between what feedback is meant to convey and how it is actually experienced by the other person.
  • Understand the generational context: Develop a contextual (not stereotyped) understanding of why different generations have different expectations of feedback, communication, and workplace relationships.
  • Apply the Clarity and Care framework: Deliver feedback that is direct and specific without sacrificing the relational awareness needed for it to land well.
  • Receive feedback without defensiveness: Build the emotional literacy to interpret and act on feedback constructively, even when it is uncomfortable or poorly delivered.
  • Flex your communication style: Adapt how you give or seek feedback based on the context, relationship and individual, rather than defaulting to one approach.
  • Ask better questions: Use purposeful questions to seek clarity, check understanding, and open productive feedback conversations from either side of the dynamic.
  • Build shared expectations: Co-create team or individual feedback norms that both managers and early-career professionals genuinely commit to.
  • Turn insight into habit: Leave each workshop with a concrete personal action plan that translates awareness into consistent,  repeatable behaviour change.
  • Contribute to a feedback culture: Understand your role as a leader or early career professional in shaping an environment where honest, frequent, and constructive feedback becomes the norm.
