Personal lines insurance has a part to play in all our lives. But what is it? How does it work? This introductory course will explain that. Anyone starting a career in insurance or simply wanting to understand how insurance can protect them, will find this course useful. You will learn how insurance actually works, about the companies and people who do that work and some of the products you can buy. Insurance is based on trust, meaning how customers are treated is very important. So this course looks at that too.
Probably the most well-known types of insurance are Home, Motor, Pet and Travel, collectively known as Personal lines insurance. Personal lines insurance is one of the major components that make up the global financial services industry.
In this course, you will be introduced to these four types of insurance, along with mobile phone and wedding insurance, and their function.
You will cover how and why personal lines insurance is taken out and learn how insurance products are distributed. You will also understand the structure of the insurance market, key roles in the insurance industry, and the concept of risk.
