Award in General Insurance (Hong Kong)

This single-unit Award is ideal for those starting their careers in the Hong Kong insurance sector. The unit (WH1) Award in General Insurance (Hong Kong) helps develop a basic understanding of insurance principles, procedures and products, specifically for the Hong Kong market:

  • Basic principles of insurance
  • Main legal principles related to insurance contracts
  • Main regulatory principles related to insurance business
  • Key elements to protect consumers.

This qualification is not regulated. Unregulated qualifications are not Ofqual recognised and will not show on Ofqual’s list of regulated qualifications. However, all qualifications offered by the CII whether regulated or unregulated, are developed and delivered using the same processes, industry experts and standards.

Insurance practitioners at the start of their career in Hong Kong insurance, or seeking to build on existing knowledge through formal study.

The Award also supports ongoing professional development as, on passing the exam, you will hold one of the three Awards needed to complete the Certificate in Insurance and Financial Services.

Before starting study, check to see whether any of your previous academic qualifications or credits from other professional bodies and institutes can be carried towards completion of the Certificate.

Award level units are assessed by multiple choice question exam (MCQ). For online MCQ exams result notification is immediate on completion. For paper-based MCQ exams, results are released five weeks' following the exam sitting.
