Hayley Brown is Corporate Development Manager at the Chartered Insurance Institute

Hayley Brown is Corporate Development Manager at the Chartered Insurance Institute. Her current role involves working alongside CII’s largest corporate clients to enhance the knowledge, skills and behaviours of their employees. Hayley has over ten years’ experience in financial services, working with global regulators, firms and bodies alike to further the professionalism of the sector. Prior to working at CII, Hayley held the position of Senior Associate in the FCA’s Culture and Governance Team where she led a project on the importance of Purpose in financial services.

  Jon Cawley  Head of Claims Operations, NHS Resolution & Advisory Board member, Society of Claims Professionals 

Jon is the Head of Claims Operations at NHS Resolution, an arm’s-length body of the Department of Health and Social Care providing expertise to the NHS on resolving concerns and disputes fairly. Prior to his current role, Jon has 25 years of experience in the claims sector, including senior positions at NFU Mutual, Towergate, and Zurich.  

He has been an Advisory Board member of the Society of Claims Professionals since 2019.  


Dr Matthew Connell – Director of Policy and Public Affairs at the Chartered Insurance Institute 

Matthew’s focus is on building public trust in insurance through dialogue with consumers, policy makers, influencers and industry professionals. He has worked at the CII since March 2017. 

Previously, he was Head of Regulatory Developments for Zurich Insurance Group’s UK Life Business. He has worked in banking and insurance for more than 20 years, and was the Chairman of the Investment and Life Assurance Group (ILAG) between 2015 and 2017.  

He holds an MSc in Public Relations from the University of Stirling and a PhD in Policy Studies from the University of Warwick. 

Julian Enoizi – CEO of Pool Re

Julian has presided over the repositioning of Pool Re including the renegotiation of it’s relationship with HM Treasury, the introduction of a more sophisticated underwriting proposition requiring an amendment to an Act of Parliament, the purchase of the world’s largest terrorism retrocession programme, the launch of the world’s first terrorism Catastrophe Bond and a significant investment into a partnership with the Home Office in respect of risk mitigation projects. 

In addition, Pool Re is recognised as a central sponsor of thought leadership initiatives and international collaboration with similar national level terrorism (re)insurance arrangements around the world. In 2018, John Glen, Economic Secretary to the Treasury, described Pool Re as being ‘widely recognised as the world’s leading terrorism pool’.

Julian is a multi-lingual lawyer who has practiced internationally.  He sits on the Advisory Board of the OECD International Network on the Financial Management of Large-scale Catastrophe and the CBI’s Financial Services Council.  A Freeman of the City of London, Julian was appointed a visiting Professor at the University of Cranfield in 2018 and in 2019 was recognised by Insurance Day as Industry Achiever of the year for his leadership and innovation in terrorism reinsurance.

Julian is an active speaker at conferences worldwide, advocating the importance of public/private partnerships and international collaboration to tackle difficult to insure perils facing the world today.

Sian Fisher ACII Chartered Insurance Practitioner – Chief Executive Officer, Chartered Insurance Institute

Leading the professional body for insurance and financial planning since February 2016 follows a distinguished career in the sector, which has included senior roles at a Lloyd’s Syndicate, a UK and European insurance company, a market leading MGA, a major international broker and US corporate.

Sian has also run her own start-up intermediary and was part of the creation of the Managing General Agents’ Association.

A graduate of the University of Oxford with an Executive MBA from Harvard Business School, Sian is a strong advocate for equality. She is a founding member of the Insuring Women’s Futures initiative and a Committee Member of the Insurance Supper Club.

Ms. Fisher is also a Non-Executive Director at Asta Underwriting Management, a Vice President of the Insurance Institute of London and board member of Insurance United Against Dementia (IUAD).

Matthew Hall – Strategy & Operations Manager, Insurance Societies & Networks, Chartered Insurance Institute

Matthew is responsible for developing and leading strategic change initiatives focused on transforming the framework in which the Chartered Insurance Institute engages with its members and key stakeholders. He has oversight for the strategic and operational delivery of the CII’s Insurance Societies and National Insurance Network, and also sits on the Society Advisory Boards for the broking, claims, and underwriting sectors.

He has over a decade of experience within financial services membership bodies, including previous engagement roles at the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment and TheCityUK.

Mandy Hunt – Chief Underwriting Officer, RSA Commercial & Advisory Board member, Society of Underwriting Professionals 

Mandy is the Chief Underwriting Officer at RSA for the Commercial Risk Solutions business having previously been the Managing Director of Insurance Corporation of the Channel Island business since 2015. Prior to joining RSA in 1998, Mandy worked for Willis and Lambert Fenchurch and helped Insurance Corporation achieve the CII’s Chartered Status in 2018.  

Mandy is a long-time advocate of the CII and the importance of professional qualifications and joined the Advisory Board of the Society of Underwriting Professionals in 2019. 



Ajay Mistry – Head of Digital Sales & Marketing, Clear Insurance Group & Advisory Board member, Society of Insurance Broking 

Ajay is Head of Digital Sales and Marketing for the Clear Insurance Group, an independent broker with offices across the country that also leads an independent broker network called Brokerbility. He has previously worked at Aviva, Aon and BHIB Insurance Brokers, predominantly in sales and marketing roles.  

Ajay is also the co-founder and co-chair of iCAN (the Insurance Cultural Awareness Network) – a cross-industry network focusing on supporting and promoting multicultural and international talent across the insurance sector.  

Ajay joined the Advisory Board of the Society of Insurance Broking in 2021. 



Artur Niemczewski – Partner, Arthur Fleming & Co. Ltd and Board Member, Chartered Insurance Institute

Artur is an experienced executive and non-executive in the London Market and Global Specialty Insurance. He was CEO of Pro Global Insurance Solutions Plc until stepping down in late 2019. Prior to joining Pro Global in February 2014, Artur led Garwyn Group Ltd, the UK’s leading specialist liability loss adjuster. Previously, Artur was Managing Director of Xchanging Broking Services Ltd, served as Chief Executive of the Specialty Division for Marsh UK Ltd and Chief Operating Officer of Willis International Holdings.   

While at Willis, Artur gained extensive international experience, covering most commercial and specialty insurance markets across North and South America, Asia and Continental Europe, including a secondment with Willis Germany. Artur started his insurance career as Director of Strategy at AXA Insurance and as a strategy consultant with McKinsey & Company. Artur has also advised the board of Co-op Insurance and served as a non-executive director of Asta, the Lloyd’s turnkey managing agency.  

Artur is a Freeman of the City of London and a Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Insurers. Artur holds a PhD in Nuclear Engineering and an MSc in Public Policy from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), an MSc in Mechanical Engineering from Warsaw University of Technology, and a Certificate from the Chartered Insurance Institute. 



Julie Page ACII – CEO Aon UK Ltd and President, Chartered Insurance Institute

Julie Page is Chief Executive Officer of Aon UK Ltd and is responsible for the strategic management, statutory and governance oversight of Aon UK Ltd, delivering on the firm’s global vision, financial goals and statutory and regulatory agenda.

In addition, Julie leads Commercial Risk, Health and Affinity Solutions providing a range of risk, insurance and health and benefits services to clients. With over 30 years in the insurance broking sector, Julie has worked with clients across all segments, including Consumer, SME, UK and Global Corporate and many industry segments.

Julie is President of the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII), a member of the CBI Presidents Committee, a member of the FCA Practitioner Panel and an industry champion for diversity and inclusion, holding roles as a committee member of Inclusion@Lloyds.

Julie was a Board Director at BIBA as the Chair of one of its Advisory Boards and more latterly as Deputy Chair until standing down in July 2019.

In 2017 Julie was a recipient of a Business Insurance ‘EMEA Women to Watch’ award.
