Important information - Upcoming maintenance: The CII will be undertaking work on our IT systems throughout the entire weekend of 12-14 October, as part of our strategy to better support our members and customers. The work will mean that during this time there will be no access to the CII/PFS/SMP websites and learners will be unable to take exams, access RevisionMate, or make purchases on these days. We have spoken to all those who have booked to sit an exam on these days to advise them of what action they need to take. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Aldermanbury Declaration

The Insurance Profession Task Force in 2010 published the Aldermanbury Declaration. The Task Force, chaired by then CII President Barry Smith, comprised of senior figures from the insurance sector, and spent many months shaping a common framework for professional standards.

The Aldermanbury Declaration has significantly raised the profile of professional standards across the insurance market, but the journey is far from over and we continue to work to encourage greater professionalism in the sector.

'Companies now realise that putting professionalism; high standards, lifelong learning, and ethics at the centre of their business will produce better outcomes for their customers.'
Chris Hanks, Chair of the Professionalism Taskforce
