The passing of our Honorary Fellow

Dr Cheung was a prominent veteran in the insurance profession of Hong Kong. He started his career in the late 1940s and founded his own insurance company in 1960. He later expanded his business to other industries in the Asia region. Dr Cheung had extensive knowledge and gave more than 70 years to the insurance profession. In addition to his business achievements, Dr Cheung cared about the community and was a great philanthropist who supported many charity, medical and educational programmes in Hong Kong, China, the US, Canada and Asia. He believed knowledge is the key to a better future and was keen to support the education of future generations.

Recognising his contribution and seven decades of service to the insurance profession, Dr Cheung was awarded Honorary Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute in year 2020. The honorary Fellowship is the most honourable title in CII and an internationally recognised badge of professionalism. He was the first international insurance professional outside of the UK to receive the award.
