The Personal Finance Society (PFS) has launched a refreshed events programme for 2024, involving new, large-scale events, alongside extensive online and regional series, and the organisation’s flagship National Conference.

The PFS has designed its new multi-layered programme based on member feedback, drawn from independent research. As well as providing additional opportunities to come together, the new programme includes more content for practitioners across a wider variety of roles and career stages.

The new ‘PFS Xchange’ programme will offer large, multi-streamed events that encompass technical masterclasses balanced by skills development, career pathway workshops and interactive good practice development sessions. The ‘PFS Digital’ offer will include a wide range of topical and informative content delivered online, while the ‘PFS Local’ series will provide digital and in-person events up and down the country, delivered by the national network of practitioner volunteers.

The first new events will take place in February and March, around the theme of ‘Later Life Planning’. Further series will take place in June and September at a range of venues across the UK. Each event will qualify for 4+ hours of CPD.

The PFS Board has invested significant extra funding in its events programme this year. The PFS events team will work with a select group of like-minded partners to secure independent subject specialists and further advance the already excellent quality that PFS members expect and enjoy from the organisation’s events.

Don MacIntyre, Interim CEO of the PFS, said: “We are delighted to share details of our 2024 PFS events programme with the wider sector. Having carefully considered feedback from our members, we have produced a programme of events that support the development of those working within the financial planning profession, and the varying needs associated with post-pandemic working life. We encourage members to explore our new style events, which have each been crafted to educate, inspire, and help to deliver excellent client outcomes.”
