Underwriting Faculty

The Underwriting Faculty is a central community for insurance underwriting professionals and encourages and promotes progression to qualified status and the maintenance of good practice, the highest standards of competence, expertise and professionalism for staff at all levels of experience.

The Underwriting Faculty provides members with access to market-relevant continuing professional development be that technical and market-issues based articles, analysis, research, reports, face to face and online events, seminars and professional and career-path based guidance.

The faculty also provides a voice with regulators and other key bodies on issues related to underwriting and customer outcomes.


Faculty benefits and mission statement

The following video explains the benefits offered by CII Faculty membership. Ant Gould (director, CII Faculties) discusses the Faculties' mission statement and how this is realised by technical resources, networking opportunities and CPD support.

The faculty provides members with a host of relevant and timely information in a range of formats, covering high level research, technical and legal developments, through to topical debates and seminars - all designed to keep you up to date with your chosen area of expertise through market relevant CPD offerings.

Each faculty is directed by a board of key market practitioners whose role is to provide advice, technical expertise, access to key personnel and advocacy of the CII's professional agenda. The chair of the Underwriting Faculty board is presently David Williams, FCII,  technical director, Axa Insurance.
