In this two half-day introductory virtual workshop we provide an overview and an update on motor insurance.
We outline recent legal and technological developments and changes in policy coverage. We also examine how motor insurers price their coverage and discuss how we can get our clients the best deal.
Workshop objectives
By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:
- Outline the law with respect to motor liability insurance and recent legal developments that have impacted motor insurance
- Explain the typical coverage provided under the different types of motor insurance
- Private car
- Commercial vehicle
- Motor fleet
- Motor traders
- Classic cars
- Describe what aspects impact the pricing of a motor risk including telematics insurance, pay per hour and pay per mile business models
- Describe how motor claims can be handled efficiently utilising technology
Who should attend?
Brokers and underwriters who are new to motor insurance or seeking to consolidate their technical knowledge.

Method of delivery
This workshop will be delivered online with a Trainer via Microsoft Teams, over two half-day sessions, on the 17 & 24 September 2024, 09:30-12:30 (UK). Delegates must ensure they can access the session through Teams.
Certificate
At the end of this workshop, you will receive a certificate of attendance from the Chartered Insurance Institute.
