This online course provides a useful introduction into construction insurances particularly contract works/contractors’ all risks insurance and the way it is handled in the insurance market. We also briefly examine other insurances that contractors typically purchase.
Workshop objectives
By the end of the workshop participants will be able to:
- Outline the different types of contractor
- Describe the risks involved in faced by contractors
- Explain construction contracts such as the JCT contracts can affect the client's insurance arrangements
- Describe the major elements of contract works insurance policies
- Identify other policies typically required by contractors
- Describe contract works insurers underwriting requirements
- Outline the key elements involved in a contract works claim

Who should attend?
Brokers and underwriters who are new to contract works insurance or seeking to consolidate and update their technical knowledge.
Method of Delivery
This workshop will be delivered online with a trainer via Microsoft Teams, over two half-days, on 14 & 21 May 2024 - 09:30-12:30 (UK).
Certificate
On completion of this workshop, you will receive a certificate of attendance from the Chartered Insurance Institute.
