Doing your best to understand a customer’s specific needs is particularly important for you working in personal lines insurance as you are likely to be dealing with customers who have different levels of understanding of pet insurance, and confidence in dealing with financial matters.
This unit will equip you with knowledge of pet insurance that is up to date and relevant for your work, including how to ensure you provide a fair and equal service for all customers. This includes understanding key legal principles or rules for pet insurance. You’ll also learn about the different types of pet insurance products and some of the ways that insurance can be arranged.

Testing Position
Financial Ombudsman Service Award Limit Change
Changes to the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) award limits come into effect on 1 April 2025. Examinations will be reflective of these changes from 1 July 2025.
The PL4 Examination Guide for exams from 1 January 2022 to 31 December 2022 was first published in October 2021. Any questions which have been amended since the examination guide was first published will appear below.
