In this Insurance Institute of London (IIL) accident webinar, Tanya Patel, Life Science Practice Underwriter, HDI Global SE - UK, and Tom Daniels, Life Science Practice Leader, HDI Global SE - UK, provided an insight into the niche area of clinical trials insurance and an overview of the challenges, opportunities and innovation in this space that have come hand-in-hand with the Covid-19 pandemic.

Throughout the current pandemic, clinical trials have been thrust into the spotlight as the world eagerly awaits new vaccines and therapeutics that are effective against this novel virus.

In this session, the speakers provided an introduction to clinical trials insurance and risk factors and an insight into the terminology we’ve all be seeing in the media but not necessarily understood.

Through a selection of case studies, the speakers looked at the challenges and considerations the pandemic has brought when reviewing clinical trials risks, and also have a look at some of the innovative Covid-19 related clinical trial activity currently underway.
