The CII

The CII is the premier professional organisation for those working in the Insurance and Financial Services industry. It is dedicated to promoting higher standards of competence and integrity through the provision of relevant qualifications for employees at all levels and across all sectors of the industry.

The CII’s broad portfolio of education and qualification services is continually expanding to meet the changing requirements of companies and individuals across the General Insurance and Financial Services community.

The CII with global operations in the Middle East, Asia, India and the growing faculties within the UK offers the opportunity to build a career in one of the most challenging and fast-moving business environments within the professional awarding body.

We have been accredited as an Investor in People (IiP) since 2003, achieving the IiP Gold Standard in 2011. We place a strong emphasis on the learning and development of our people. Everyone in our organisation is encouraged to develop a personal development plan with their manager as part of their performance and development review.

We are committed to open communication and one way this is maintained is through the Information and Consultation Forum. A working group made up of elected staff repsentatives from across the oganisation This is an important component of the CII’s strategy of employee engagement and information sharing.

Our secretariat function won the award for ‘Companies Secretary of the year’ in 2007 whilst our customer service function won the award for Service Provider of the Year in 2004. In 2007 our marketing function won an award for the ‘Best Integrated Campaign’ for the Talent Initiative programme by the Association of Graduate Recruiters.

We have an active Social Committee which helps to develop the sense of teamwork that we believe is important in ensuring our continued success.

What does the CII mean by ‘equality’?

    Our offices

    CII's head office is based in the City of London and is often referred to as the Aldermanbury building. Our Customer Service office is based in South Woodford and our Face to Face training suite is based at Fenchurch Street.

    We also have offices in the Middle East, Singapore and India.
