Chartered individuals

Holding a Chartered title distinguishes an individual from the mass of practitioners, signaling the attainment of qualifications and the continuing pursuit of the highest professional standards.

Chartered titles are recognised by consumers as a sign of the holder's commitment to learning, competence and ethical practice.

Four chartered titles reflect the holder's career specialism:

Individual Chartered titles

Chartered Insurance Broker applies to qualified CII members who are carrying on business as an insurance broker. An insurance broker is an independent intermediary who acts for clients and, in respect of any product type, offers or sells the products of more than one insurer.

Chartered Insurer

Chartered Insurer applies to qualified CII members working for insurance companies and Lloyd's underwriting agents.

Chartered Insurance Practitioner

Chartered Insurance Practitioner applies to qualified CII members who work as insurance intermediaries or loss adjusters, in trade and professional bodies and in other insurance-related occupations.

Chartered Financial Planner

Eligible CII/PFS members who are carrying on business as providers of financial planning advice or related activities, to individuals or corporate entities, may use the descriptive title Chartered Financial Planner.
