About the authors
Revision by Valerie Jackson, BSc, FCII, Chartered Insurance Practitioner
Valerie has worked in the industry for 28 years, originally training on the graduate development programme with Royal Insurance. She then moved to work with Marsh, latterly as a director of the UK Broking Division in Manchester. She left Marsh in 1984 to concentrate on training consultancy work, forming her own training company in 1999. Valerie is incolved in a wide range of training and development activities, inclding tuition for the Certificate in Insurance, Diploma in Insurance and Advanced Diploma in Insurance and accreditation of training and competence programmes on behalf of the CII. She is also author of the the CII IF6 and P11 coursebooks.
This guide is a revised version of an earlier work written by Professor Gordon Dickson and Dr Bill Stein, both from Glasgow Caledomian University. That built on an earlier version by Professor Dickson and John Steele.
