As an individual member of the CII London Market Faculty you will get access to a wide variety of information and services that can help support you in your role as a London insurance market professional. In practical terms, the Faculty will achieve this by:
- Laying down and enforcing standards of conduct that reflect good practice.
- Acting as a centre of technical expertise and good practice that can be accessed by members, commentators, regulators and policy makers.
- Helping and supporting the identification of professional standards and benchmarks in the award of qualifications and certification of personal achievement.
- Helping you to demonstrate to your employer commitment to maintaining and enhancing your competence. The Faculty will offer many ways to do this including:
- Insurance & Broker ASSESS - an online training and competence tool.
- Continuing Professional Development - encouraging and supporting those who have completed a CII qualification.
- Face to face training courses.
- Master class lectures.
- CII Information Services - over 2000 relevant sources of information relating to claims, including access to a vast majority of this online.
- Reflects the FSA’s requirements. This will include setting up an Insurance Centre of Learning for up to 1,000 students providing face-to-face tuition, examination technique and revision classes for those entering the exams and qualifications generally. The Centre of Learning will be run from CII premises in Fenchurch Street, Lloyd’s and Aldermanbury.
- Providing a programme of training and learning support, by:
- Guiding the London market community in relation to the CII’s Code of Ethics and Conduct, supported by disciplinary and appeals procedures.
- Determine standards of training and competence regimes for firms and provide guidance on solutions, where appropriate.
- Facilitate learning and continuous development programmes for practitioners and support the enhancement of competency of London.
How will the Faculty support firms?
- Provide via the Faculty Board a means for the major London segments to be represented and to have a say on key professional practice issues.
- Delivering qualification and certification modules specific to the London market to support the professional development of employees.
- Provide a wide range of services including online facilities, toolkits, consultancy support to assist firms in meeting regulatory learning, training and competence requirements.
Faculty members will receive a personalised membership certificate and benefit from access to:
- A dedicated events programme including morning and evening seminars and lunchtime workshops.
- Specific Faculty information provided online through the CII website.
