Apprenticeships
Apprenticeships are funded programmes of learning which are delivered in the workplace in the UK. Anyone over the age of 16 who does not hold a degree can enrol as an Apprentice.
The programmes provide a foundation in insurance for new entrants, as well as offer professional qualifications for those with sector experience but no formalised learning.
Each Apprenticeship contains four elements:
- Knowledge qualification – this is the part that contains a CII unit/qualification
- Competence qualification
- Key Skills/Functional Skills
- Employee Rights and Responsibilities (ERR)
There are also pathways containing qualifications from CII’s financial services framework.
In England, the frameworks were revised in May 2011. Revisions are expected in Wales later in 2011, with Scotland and Northern Ireland not expected to make framework changes at this time.
Please note that the Level 2 Intermediate Apprenticeship in Providing Financial Services will soon have a pathway that contains the following CII unit:
Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship in Providing Financial Services – now contains pathways with the following CII qualifications:
Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship in Providing Mortgage Advice – contains:
