CII Report – Professionalism and Reputation
The CII has been looking at the role of professional bodies and professionalism in the sector for some time and commissioned an independent report from Deloitte on professionalism and reputation – and how we compare with other professions. The report also contains results of the March e-consultation with members. This report is published on June 27th as part of the CII’s contribution to the FSA’s retail distribution review (RDR). We have also issued a press release.
Responding to the FSA
We believe that the Financial Services Authority’s Discussion Paper on the RDR – also published on 27th June - is a valuable start point for driving the debate to improve levels of professionalism throughout the industry. Over the next few months we will be consulting with members on the contents of the FSA Discussion Paper (and the Deloitte paper) as well as holding meetings to explain the review and gauge views. This will allow us to develop, through structured input from members, a response to the FSA for the close of the consultation at the end of the year.
