CII evolves its corporate governance...

At an SGM on 11 April 2007 members of the CII voted in favour of ratifying proposals to revolutionise the way that the CII is governed. A Board of 13 people replaces the existing 49 Member Council as the governing Body of the CII with a Representative Council of 65 to fully represent Member’s views. The new Board will act more like the Board of Directors in a limited company.

These changes, which follow a wide ranging consultation process, will enable the CII to meet best practice standards and pave the way for much quicker and more efficient decision-making.

The transfer to the new governance arrangements is effective from 19 July 2007.
