Corporate Chartered consultation

Chartered status is associated with technical competence and professional standards.

Firms who hold our Corporate Chartered status have chosen to set themselves apart – by ensuring their customers always get expert advice, or products and services that are in their best interests.

The commitments upheld by these firms help to drive public trust and confidence across the insurance and personal finance professions.
We want more customers to choose Chartered, and we want more firms to aspire to be Chartered.

We intend to improve our rules so more customers can benefit from the services of a Corporate Chartered firm.

We are moving from a restrictive ‘one size fits all’ approach to support a wider range of firms and business models while continuing to maintain and enhance professional standards.

Our rules will continue to be synonymous with quality, built on robust entrance criteria and ongoing monitoring.

In future, we intend to benchmark the overall investment made by Chartered firms in the skills of their employees and their ability to achieve better outcomes for their customers, consistent with the FCA’s Consumer Duty and the outcomes identified by our Professional Map.

Corporate Chartered status is the pinnacle of the insurance and financial planning professions, and we want more employers to see value in achieving this status.

We also believe all customers should understand how choosing Chartered can make a difference for them, building public trust and confidence.
