CII responds to Treasury pensions consultation »
Guidance should be subject to integrated Standards, Training,
Accreditation and Revalidation (STAR) criteria if it is to meet the
Government's public policy objectives.
The Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) has published its response
to HM Treasury's consultation paper: Freedom and Choice in
Pensions. The response supports the ambitions behind the
Chancellor's retirement reforms, particularly the proposal to
guarantee to consumers impartial, personalised and free guidance
around their retirement options. However certain essential
safeguards are necessary to avoid the risk of unintended
consequences such as mis-selling.

Personal Finance Society launch uk's largest accredited adviser directory »
The Personal Finance Society has announced details of what it
believes is the most comprehensive accredited adviser directory of
its kind in the UK, as part of a planned overhaul of its
findanadviser.org financial adviser database, announced initially
at its annual conference last November.

level 3 qualification for the retail banking sector.
The CII Award in Retail Banking follows the Parliamentary
Commission on Banking Standards' recommendations and represents a
