I can’t access the e-library – what might be wrong?

Here is a list of suggestions to troubleshoot any difficulties you might have accessing the e-library.

Does your institution or business have a subscription to any EBSCO services?

EBSCO is the provider of e-library. If your university, college or business has a subscription to any EBSCO services, and you are attempting to access the CII's subscription on your work/college network, your browsing history might confuse the security settings that permit access to the resource.

Clearing your cache should resolve this problem. Guidelines on how to do this for different browsers can be found online.

How have you accessed the link to the e-library?

Access to the CII's subscription to e-library works by referring URL.

This means that it is only possible to access the resource from the link on the CII website. Permalinks that you have created, saved links in your browser and links to articles sent by email will come up with a login error message.

If this happens, go back to the CII website and access the resource via the link given.

Is someone else accessing the resource?

For some online resources, like eBooks, we only have a one-seat user login (only one person can access that resource at a time.) If you encounter a message saying that someone else is using the resource, please try to access it a little later.
