Chartered Insurance Brokers of the Year (Corporate)
Why should I enter?
Since 2007 fewer than 100 broking firms have been awarded the exclusive ‘Chartered Insurance Brokers’ title, demonstrating their professional commitment and distinguishing their firms in the eyes of clients, employees and business partners.
The winner of the Chartered Insurance Brokers of the Year 2010 award will demonstrate that their firm has truly embodied the values represented by corporate Chartered status. This will be evidenced by a commitment to professionalism through operating to the highest ethical standards and demonstrating the strongest commitment to development of its employees.
Being the winner of the inaugural Chartered Insurance Brokers of the Year award will be a unique achievement and will undoubtedly represent the ultimate endorsement of excellence in professionalism, staff development and ethical practices.
Is my organisation eligible to enter?
All firms holding the Chartered Insurance Brokers title may enter the Chartered Insurance Brokers of the Year (Corporate) category for 2010. Entries must be received prior to the closing date of 30 April 2010.
How will my organisation be judged?
Entries for the Chartered Insurance Brokers of the Year award will be judged on their ability to demonstrate their commitment to the values represented by the corporate Chartered title.
Firms will be assessed in three key areas:
- A commitment to the professional qualification and development of all staff;
- Culture, ethos and ethics; and
- The promotion of Chartered status to clients, potential clients and the wider public.
How do I enter?
Entrants are invited to complete an entry online and explain to the judges, in no more than 1,000 words, why their business should be the Chartered Insurance Brokers of the Year for 2010. The 1,000 word covering statement should form the basis of the entry. It may refer to appended background material but should keep to a simple formula of statement first, background second.
This statement will be what the judges base their judgment upon, so it must tell the story of the firm’s achievement.
The judges will expect a clear statement of objectives and targets supported by evidence that these targets were reached. The judges will review projects that have come to fruition (i.e. with measurable results) over the previous 12–18 months.
All the information contained in your entry that is marked ‘confidential’ will remain so, and will not be released without the permission of the entrant. All entries must be submitted online with:
- A copy of the organisation's professional development plan (T&C plan); and
- Examples of consumer-facing literature.
In addition, entrants may wish to support their entry with any relevant material salient to the three key areas of assessment. For instance, staff newsletters and training manuals will help to demonstrate what the entrant has achieved and should be included where relevant. The most important point to focus on, when preparing any background material and supporting evidence, is that it is quality and relevance that matter, not quantity.
The ‘responsible member’ within the business should complete the online entry for Chartered Insurance Brokers of the Year for their organisation.
