The award of Chartered titles is strictly controlled by the Privy Council and
is an objective measure of professionalism currently met by only a select
number of firms.
Chartered status is an exclusive title only awarded to firms which meet rigorous criteria relating to professionalism and capability.
They achieve this through a commitment to the technical and professional
development of their staff; enrolling all staff that deal with customers into
CII or PFS membership, in turn signing them up to an industry Code of Ethics and
Conduct; and where appropriate adhering to CII continuing professional development
requirements, ensuring staff keep their knowledge and skill-set up-to-date .
