Local and Global

Local institutes

Every CII member in the UK, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man is also a member of a local institute.

This network of local hubs provides dedicated career support for members in the locality. The programme of support varies across local institutes according to the demands and requirements of its members, but typically includes:

  • An extensive range of CPD seminars and workshops covering technical and industry related topics, typically free of charge (where a fee is payable these are significantly below standard market rates)
  • Access to 'soft' and business skills sessions to provide essential non-technical career support, the majority of which are free of charge.

Affiliated Institutes

Many CII members outside the UK are also members of one of the 70 insurance institutes affiliated to the CII.  The relationship between these bodies is typically based on mutual recognition of each others' qualifications, wherever possible, thereby avoiding duplication of learning.  The aim is to work collaboratively for the benefit of members.
