In this insightful Nicholas Barbon lecture the regulator Dr Andrew Bailey, MD, Prudential Business Unit, Financial Services Authority, provides an insight into how it plans to approach regulation of the insurance sector in the future, including reflections on lessons learnt and a deeper explanation of its new judgment based approach and its attitude towards Solvency 2. Responding on behalf of the insurance sector Legal & General's CEO Dr Nigel Wilson lays out his views on the regulator's stance and strategy. The lecture was chaired by former FSA insurance head David Strachan, who is now co-head, EMEA Centre for Regulatory Strategy at Deloitte.
