Responding for the insurance profession, Trevor Matthews (chief executive officer, Aviva UK) outlines his perspective on the ageing population and at how insurers are having to rethink how to create and price products accordingly.

The Nicholas Barbon Lecture series, which looks at the impact of major trends on insurance, was held in the CII's Insurance Hall from May to June 2012 as part of the celebrations to mark the CII's Chartered Centenary.
