- The routes shown above are purely illustrative, highlighting those that are typically followed by candidates. In addition to those shown, you may select other routes subject to the following Diploma completion requirements:
– You must hold a minimum of 140 credits
– At least 80 credits must be at Diploma level
– The balance may come from any of the examinations offered within the CII financial services qualifications framework or equivalent (this must include holding the FPC, Certificate in Financial Planning or equivalent, for example CeFA).

- Example costs are for an FPC/Certificate in Financial Planning holder who is a member of the Personal Finance Society/CII and includes, where available, for each unit:
– study text with updates
– exam entry
– key facts booklet
– exam guide
As the Diploma has a modular framework, upfront payment of fees is not needed. You pay for learning materials as and when required and exam fees upon entry. This allows the cost to be spread over the full period during which the Diploma is completed.
- Indicative completion times are based on an FPC/Certificate in Financial Planning qualified candidate sitting half yearly exams for units J01-J07. CF5 is available 8 times a year with the remaining Certificate units examined online throughout the year.
It is recommended that you allow 100 study hours to complete a Diploma unit and 70 hours for units CF2 and CF5 respectively. Candidates typically commence study three months before an exam.
