In 2016 the CII became an early signatory of the government’s Women in Finance Charter, requiring us to commit to a number of actions to promote gender diversity and inclusion. Some more information on the initiative can be found on the government’s webpages and on our website.
One of the CII’s key commitments was to set internal targets for gender diversity at senior management level, and to report on our progress against these annually. By the end of September 2019 we would like to see:
- At least 30% female representation on the Senior Executive Management Team (the CEO’s direct reports).
- At least 30% female representation on the CII Board.
We are pleased to say that we have made some progress and the picture at 30 September 2017 is currently as follows:
- Our Senior Executive Management Team is 22% female (2 women in a total team of 9 people); female representation has increased by 13% in this team since September 2016.
- Our Board members are currently 27% female (3 women in a board of 11 people).
